The short version
No MoMuTu account is required. Your imported library and progress are stored on your device, not uploaded to a MoMuTu library server. Offline voices process text locally. Optional cloud voices, online sources and advertising involve external providers, so the app should not be understood as having no data collection or as being entirely offline.
1. Your library on your device
Audifolio stores files you import or download, extracted text, titles and source URLs, chapters, shelves, favorites, reading and playback positions, settings, download progress and generated audio caches in app storage. Local browsing or viewing history may also be retained for features such as returning to YouTube items. These records support reading, listening, searching your library, resuming and replaying without generating the same audio again.
The app accesses files you select through iOS file controls; it does not need access to your entire file provider. If you export a document or audio, or share it with another app, the selected destination receives that content. Copies you export are outside Audifolio's library controls.
2. Offline and optional cloud voices
Installed Apple voices and offline VieNeu: speech generation runs on your device. Audifolio does not send the text to MoMuTu, the VieNeu author or a cloud TTS provider for these modes. Downloading an Apple voice separately is handled by iOS. Audio generated for later playback may remain in local caches.
Google Cloud Text-to-Speech: when you choose this engine and provide your own API key, the text requested for speech, voice/language and audio settings are sent directly to Google to generate audio. Google also receives connection information, including your IP address, and the API credential used to authorize the request. Voice-list or voice-preview requests also contact Google. Choosing an offline engine avoids these cloud speech requests; other online features and ads have separate network activity.
Your Google TTS API key is stored in the iOS Keychain, not sent to a MoMuTu server. You can remove it in Settings. Google Cloud usage and any charges belong to the account you configure. Do not send confidential text unless you have permission and are comfortable with Google's handling of it. See Google's TTS data-logging information and Google Cloud Privacy Notice.
3. Search, websites and online media
Searching for books or stories, checking source availability, loading covers or metadata, opening a website, streaming media and downloading files contact the relevant search service or source. Providers may receive search terms, requested URLs, IP address and request/device information. Built-in and user-added sources can have different privacy practices; availability checks can contact a source without downloading a book.
YouTube is shown in a visible YouTube web player, not downloaded or converted to background audio by Audifolio. Embedded websites may use cookies or site storage, including a session if you sign in. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. Google/YouTube practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy; review other sources before using them. External providers may process information outside your country.
4. Banner advertising and consent
The current app includes Google AdMob banners and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) for consent and privacy choices. Ad requests are gated on UMP's permission to request ads. When required, available choices can be reopened from Settings → Ad privacy. Ad availability and personalization depend on consent, region and provider settings.
Google may process IP-derived approximate location, available app/device identifiers, ad views and interactions, and diagnostic/performance information for ad delivery, measurement, security and service operation. Audifolio disables Google's publisher first-party ID and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission or use IDFA. This does not mean advertising processes no data. See Google's SDK data disclosure and privacy policy. There is no separate studio analytics SDK in this configuration.
5. Content, copyright and your responsibility
Audifolio is a tool, not a bundled licensed catalogue of commercial books or audiobooks. Any content supplied by MoMuTu must be produced by the studio with the necessary rights, or provided through a lawful license or partner agreement. We do not claim ownership of material you import.
You choose your sources and download, import or enter content yourself. You are responsible for ensuring that reading, listening, downloading, converting to speech, exporting and sharing are permitted by applicable law, the rights holder and the source's terms. A publicly reachable file, search result or link is not itself permission to copy or redistribute it. Source links are not claims of a partnership or a license from MoMuTu.
Do not use Audifolio to bypass DRM or access restrictions, infringe copyright or another person's privacy, or misrepresent synthesized speech as an authentic recording. A TTS software/model license does not grant rights to the source text, a person's identity or every possible use of generated audio. These user responsibilities do not remove MoMuTu's own obligations under applicable law.
Rights holders can report concerns about a studio-provided item or a link shown by the app using the contact below. Include the title, source URL, the rights involved and enough information to locate the issue; please do not send an entire copyrighted book.
6. VieNeu speech model credits
The offline Vietnamese engine integrates VieNeu-TTS v3 Turbo (INT8), developed by Phạm Nguyễn Ngọc Bảo. The upstream project and model declare the Apache License 2.0. MoMuTu credits the original author; we do not claim to have created VieNeu or to be endorsed by its author.

This attribution applies to that component, not automatically to the whole app, other dependencies or imported content. Separate components retain their own license terms. Local use of the model does not require sending your reading text to the model's author.
7. Storage, security and your choices
Local records remain until removed through available app controls, by deleting the app, or by iOS storage management. Deleting a library item is not a promise to erase every history, setting or generated cache. Offloading the app is not the same as deleting it. System backups and exported copies may remain under your Apple or destination-provider settings. Keychain credentials can survive app deletion, so remove your Google API key in Settings first; you can also revoke it with Google.
Use offline voices to keep speech processing on-device, avoid online sources when you do not want to contact them, delete library items you no longer need and revisit ad privacy choices where offered. Deleting local information does not delete records already held by external providers; use their privacy controls or contact them for those records.
If you contact MoMuTu, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We retain correspondence only as needed to help you, resolve issues or meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information. We use platform storage protections and Keychain for the Google TTS key, but no storage or transmission method is risk-free; avoid importing or sharing sensitive material unnecessarily.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy authority. Contact us for information we control. We cannot directly access or erase a library stored only on your device. Website visits and support communications are also covered by the studio privacy policy, where consistent with this notice.
8. Children
Audifolio is not designed specifically for children, and external sources may contain material unsuitable for them. A parent or guardian should supervise a child's use of sources, cloud services and sharing. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through support; contact us if you believe such information was sent so we can address it.
